	Some businesses leave their front doors open in summer as an invitation to customers to enter - don't let your air-conditioning dollars flow out of your front doors. Clean furnace filters regularly and have a licensed heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) technician inspect and maintain your HVAC system once a year to keep it running efficiently.
	Prevent heat gain (in summer) and heat loss (in winter) by caulking, weather-stripping and insulating windows and doors. Window coverings, tinting and awnings can help to increase the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems all year around. Use damper blades that are the opposed type instead of parallel - opposed blades provide better control and have less air leakage in the closed position.
	Upgrade your building's heating, ventilating and air-conditioning system to include an economizer cycle to take advantage of free cooling. Install a heat recovery system to capture the heat exhausted from your building.
